THE MESSENGER
synopsis
Thirtysomething Petr lives in an old flat with his girlfriend. She wants to get her degree out of the way but she can’t stay focused on her studies, what with a leaking roof and Petr’s whimsical attitude. His behaviour becomes even more wayward when he causes an accident that leaves his colleague strapped to a wheelchair – will he be able to face what he’s done? “I can’t keep lying for you all the time,” Petr’s girlfriend tells him when she can no longer stand his refusal to accept responsibility. Unlike him, she knows that unresolved problems just mount up.
