synopsis

After spending seven years in prison, Mario Diccara is free. Due to unsettled business with the underworld, he asks the only person he can trust, his brother Patrick, to find him a hideaway so he can spend some time in the country. Patrick, a parish priest, suggests that he join Father Etienne in his little village in the Ardèche region. So Mario puts on religious robes to make the journey. But on his arrival, trouble begins: Father Etienne has died and the villagers think Mario is the new priest...
