During the week of 8 - 13 March, the Creative Europe MEDIA desks in Croatia, Austria, Germany (Hamburg Office), Greece, Italy (Torino Office) and Portugal are organising the Celebrating Women in MEDIA event, in line with the priorities of the Creative Europe Programme 2021 - 2027. It will be broadcasted through a live stream via the official YouTube channel of MEDIA Office Croatia jointly with the Facebook pages of the above-mentioned desks.

The event will kick off on 8 March at 12 PM (CET) with introductory notes by Maria Silvia Gatta, who supervises the implementation of the Creative MEDIA Programme 2021-2027 and follows the European policy for film heritage. Next, the “What is there for me?” presentation will focus on available training initiatives for women in the audiovisual industry. Participants will include the executive director of European Women’s Audiovisual Network Jenni Koski, the president of Women in Film and Television International Helene Granqvist, Judith Klein from the Series’ Women career enhancement program at the Erich Pommer Institute, the program director of CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator Biljana Tutorov, the founder of the Writers Lab for Women +40 Nitza Wilon and Esther Krausz who developed the Producers Programme for Women.

The “Women 360º” panel-discussion, scheduled for 9 March at 12 PM (CET), will give the floor to six women who have contributed greatly to the MEDIA supported film stories and to gender balance in the European audiovisual industry: director, screenwriter and editor Dubravka Turić (Croatia), producer and business models beneficiary Maite Woköck (Germany), the CEO of the CINOBO streaming platform Dafni Bechtsi (Greece), Cinecittà’s Sales & Marketing Director Lucia Milazzotto (Italy), cinematographer Christine A. Maier (Austria), and producer and co-director of DocLisboa Joana Gusmao (Portugal). Both events will be moderated by Martina Petrović, Head of Creative Europe MEDIA desk in Croatia.

with an interview with its director Jasmila Žbanić, moderated by journalist and festival consultant Wendy Mitchell on 10 March at 12 p.m. (CET).

Finally, from March 11-13, the Creative Europe MEDIA Desks, in collaboration with different online platforms, will be offering free 48 hour-screenings within their respective territories: Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy and Portugal.
