Filming on Les barbares, the new film by Julie Delpy, began on 19 June and is currently under way in Brittany, where it will end on 28 July. This will be the actress’ seventh feature as a director, after Two Days in Paris [+see also:

Except that the refugees who arrive aren’t Ukrainian, but Syrian… 

Produced by Michaël Gentile for The Film, Les barbares has been pre-bought by Canal+ and Disney+. The feature film is also supported by the La Banque Postale Image, Cinécap, Cineventure, Indéfilms, Cofimage and Cofinova Soficas. Filming is taking place entirely in Brittany, with George Lechaptois as director of photography. Distribution in French cinemas will be handled by Le Pacte and international sales by Charades.
